Awesome day today!

Today is an awesome day!

I woke up today after roughly eight hours of sleep and a HRV of 63 and felt refreshed and recovered! I love this feeling! I decided that I would go for an extended fast and make the most out of this day in the name of long-term health. If you have never fasted before you will find that at lot of time is spent around fixing food, eating food, and cleaning up afterwards. Now if you do not eat you then have a lot of time at your hands. The best thing I find is to keep yourself busy to not think about food and also you will get heaps of things done!

This morning I have managed the following:

  • Cleaning the bathroom sink, bench, and mirror
  • Unpacked the dishwasher
  • Cleaned the kitchen sink and stove
  • Cleaned out a kitchen cupboard
  • Emptied all our recycle bins
  • Cleaned the floor where the recycle bins reside
  • Planned food and meals for the coming week
  • Completed weekly shopping of food with hubby
  • Cleaning out old stuff from the fridge
  • Unpacking all the food that we bought at the shops
  • Filled the car to the brim with things that is needed to be recycled with hubby
  • Drove to the recycling station and recycled with hubby

18 hours of fasting today

I ended my fast after 18 hours and measured a blood sugar of 4.9 which is high for me after 18 hours. But I gave myself a boost in both calories and carbs yesterday so I am glad that my body is going after the stored sugars in my liver and muscles. I will now break my fast by having my usual bone-broth and after another 30 – 60 minutes I will eat my first proper meal of the day. I will also do a shorter strength training session to further increase my insulin sensitivity before I eat. To read about my fasting lifestyle you can go hit..
