My summary of 2022

My summary of 2022.

My focus for most of 2022 has been around giving my thyroid some extra TLC. I have had some hormonal imbalances for quite some time. And this year I got a revelation around just how important the thyroid is for our hormones. It is involved in almost everything in the body. It also was not clear to me that the reference ranges for what is considered “normal” for the thyroid is extremely forgiving. Looking at what is considered normal from a functional medicine perspective is much more narrow and those are the ones I am aiming for.

Another focus for me this year is to study around health. I have for the past seven years studied health, but I put in an extra gear this year and it has been very inspirational and motivating for me!

My training summary

I have also bumped up my strength training this year with good results I must say. Also, I have reduced my runs and changed them for walks. This regimen is more aligned with how the thyroid likes it and I think it has been an important part in its healing.

Looking in my training diary I have 296 sessions registered. That equates to 5.7 training days per week on average – this must be some kind of a record for me! From those 47% are strength training! 😀💪

Going forward

Looking into 2023 I will continue my studies; I love to learn new things within my area of interest. Also I hope to optimize my thyroid even further and by that see that many of my hormonal symptoms will fade away.

So, with this little summary I want to wish all of you a happy new year!
